Ocular surface diseases are disorders of the surface of the front of the eye (the cornea). The cornea is the transparent layer that forms the front of the eye.
Ocular surface diseases include:
- Dry eye syndrome

You can also suffer damage to the ocular surface by having one of the following:
- Scarring from glaucoma medications
- Chemical burns
- Thermal burns
- Immunological conditions such as Mucous Membrane,
Pemphigoid and Sjogren’s Syndrome.
Ocular surface diseases can affect your eyesight and, therefore, your quality of life. Symptoms may include blurry vision, itching, redness, discomfort or pain. Unfortunately, cases often go undertreated or undiagnosed. I am a specialist in the ocular Surface and am well placed to ensure that your condition is not undiagnosed, or undertreated, due to a lack of understanding of symptoms.
Ocular surface disorders require diagnosis, treatment plans, great care, and management of this specialist area. Your vision can return to being fantastic with the right care.
